This hardy flowering plant is perfect for raised beds and planter boxes, with a minimum of effort on your part it will provide years of flowers from early spring to late summer. Only needing to be divided every 2-3 years, and with minimal fertilizer and soil requirements to perform, it is great for those that want a cut flower, an understory plant or a bit of a show without the effort.
This plant also makes a great addition to any water garden or to a wet boggy area. Although adequate light is required to promote flowering, protection from the hot afternoon sun will help prolong flower life.
It is also grown quite successfully in pots and is suitable as an office or house plant with basic care. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it their Award of Garden Merit.
