The Coral bark maple is a striking feature tree. This slow growing tree exhibits lime green foliage with coral red stems.
The botanical name 'Sango Kaku' refers to 'coral-painted' in Japan. The deciduous trees' striking coral stems make it highly regarded as a prized winter feature.
The Coral bark maple thrives in a partial sun position, sheltered from fierce winds and in a well drained area, but will tolerate non-ideal soil types.
Mulch well and fertilize with a general purpose slow release fertilizer or compost in early spring.
