This tough hardy shade loving perennial is ideal as border plant, in rockeries and in pots. Its long lasting flowers come out in early spring and last into summer. It thrives in moist well drained soil in a shady to partly shaded area, making it ideal for under trees and Sth facing walls. This clump forming beauty tolerates most soils including heavy, sandy, poor and dry, preferring rich well drained soil high in organic matter. It is best kept dry in winter and watered regularly in summer for best results.
