Also known as the Snake plant, Mother-in-Law's Tongue is an evergreen with stiff vertical leaves that can grow up to 90 centres in height. The Mother-in-Law's Tongue makes a great indoor plant due to its tolerance of low-light and can withstand irregular watering making it drought-hardy. Its variegated foliage makes it an ideal ornamental addition to any garden and adds year round colour interest. When planted in the garden care must be taken not to over water the Mother in-law's Tongue. Being incredibly drought hardy this is easy to do especially in the colder months. In the garden the Mother-in-Law's Tongue prefers a frost free area with plenty of light.
