A fast growing evergreen tree with glossy, rich green oval leaves. In spring this Australian native plant bears terminal clusters of very fragrant, tubular, cream flowers that age to a golden yellow. Flowers best when in an open site, but will tolerate some shade.
Benefits from watering during extended dry periods. Pruning after flowing can promote bushy plants. Old plants can be rejuvenated with heavy pruning to old wood. Grows to 10 metres, width to 6 metres. Known and used for its fragrant flowers and durability.
